Sea anemones live in deep-water environments as well as coastal waters around the globe. They are the most diverse in the tropics. Most species are attached to hard surfaces such as rocks or shells while others burrow in sand or mud. Anemones are capable or expanding and reaching with their tentacles to capture prey. A lot of species can also move their location by gliding on their base, crawling, or walking on their tentacles.
