The Kingdom Archaebacteria is composed of extremophiles such as halophiles, thermophiles, and chemobacteria. Overall, these bacteria usually live in environments where little if any other life at all is able to survive. Halophiles live in water with extremely high salt concentrations. Thermophiles live in areas where the water is very hot and acidic such as a sulfur spring. They are anaerobic and thrive in the deep ocean near hydrothermal vents.
