Above is a picture of a cowry. They are herbivores that feed on algae. Most gastropods that are herbivores feed on fine algae that can be scraped from a rock or other solid surface with their radula.

Nudibranchs lack shells. They usually have very bright colors and sometimes have weird shapes. Some of them feed on cnidarians but instead of digesting the stinging cells, the cells stay intact and are deposited in the tips of projections, or cerata, that can be used for the nudibranch's own defense.
